We are happy to announce today that Somaliland Community of Greater Washington, DC is officially has 501-c-3 nonprofit organization status.  That means anything you donate (money, cars, clothes and etc.) to your Community, can be deduct from your income tax each year. if you already donated something to our Community this year, please step by the office and get the official letter which shows your donation amount so you can take it to your professional tax specialist. Our responsibility as community leaders are now to have a plan to get a bigger building which capable of handling a daycare, after school program, Quran/Somali learn center for children on weekends and also an office for Somaliland Community that can handle internal work.

There are a few ways to get involved with the community. One way is by donating to the community events and office expenses, which it is end of the day your money, will be tax deductible. Your contribution is the lifeblood of the campaign and your community will succeed in building strong voice in this country, and our children will be ready for tomorrow. Somaliland community of Greater Washington DC Metro is a community organization, which is initiated by concerned professional volunteers who intend to serve their community. It consists of the different age groups of the Somaliland community and is guided by the principles of equality, participation, dialogue, and respect. It intends to serve those who most in need of assistance and support such as elders, parents, children and young people.
