Mission

Somaliland Americans Community is a Virginia-registered 501(c)(3) that builds a nationwide chapter network to connect Somaliland-American communities, share trusted information, mentor and develop youth, and host local civic and cultural events. We also mobilize volunteers, donations, and partnerships to deliver measurable initiatives in Somaliland focused on sustainable agriculture, health, youth technology education, women’s empowerment, and community capacity building.

History / Background

Founded in 2016 in Northern Virginia, the Somaliland Americans Community strengthens Somaliland diaspora communities by creating a trusted platform for connection, accurate information, and coordinated action. We are expanding across the United States to help Somaliland Americans integrate and thrive—through community events, referrals, and civic engagement—while mobilizing support for community-led programs in Somaliland. Our focus areas include agriculture, health, youth IT education, women’s empowerment, and broader community capacity building. Milestones and impact highlights will be added as available.
